Senior Back-End Developer

Location: Onsite - Montreal

Valnet is seeking a highly experienced and driven Senior Backend Developer to join a multi-functional development team. The ideal candidate must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment. This person will work closely with the development team and leaders to develop tools to support our various website projects. In this role you will be working primarily on Valnet’s proprietary systems and tools.
 

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for new development and maintaining all public sites to optimal performance levels.
• Developing CMS and other internal applications features for Valnet multidisciplinary teams for their day to day operations.
• Play an active role in the analysis phase when defining the features with the functional analysts.
• Improving, maintaining and establishing code standards in cooperation with the rest of the team.
• Maintaining performance and core web vitals for the web pages
• Maintain strong knowledge about the latest web development standards and development tools.
   

Technical requirements:

• 5+ years experience as a back-end developer.
• Development with AI assistants
• Strong knowledge of SQL (MySQL, ClickHouse) and PHP
• Strong knowledge of Javascript (TypeScript)
• Experience working with high traffic websites
• Experience with Core Web Vitals optimisation
• Experience with single page application and REST API/Ajax
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming.
• Strong knowledge of modularization and library development approach
   

Technical assets:

• GIT(BitBucket), JIRA, VisualCode, Jenkins
• Shell Script (Bash).
• Knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3, SCSS.
• Vector Database
• LLM Prompting
• Good understanding of SEO practice / Google Analytics / Google page speed.

Développeur Back-End Senior

Valnet est à la recherche d’un Développeur Back-End Senior hautement expérimenté et motivé pour se joindre à une équipe de développement multidisciplinaire. Le candidat idéal possède d’excellentes compétences analytiques et en résolution de problèmes, ainsi qu’un fort intérêt pour un environnement de travail dynamique et en constante évolution.

Vous travaillerez en étroite collaboration avec l’équipe de développement et les leaders afin de concevoir et développer des outils soutenant nos différents projets web. Le rôle consiste principalement à travailler sur les systèmes et outils propriétaires de Valnet.

Responsabilités

• Assurer le développement de nouvelles fonctionnalités et la maintenance de l’ensemble des sites publics afin de garantir des performances optimales.
• Développer des fonctionnalités pour le CMS et d’autres applications internes utilisées par les équipes multidisciplinaires de Valnet dans leurs opérations quotidiennes.
• Jouer un rôle actif lors de la phase d’analyse pour définir les fonctionnalités en collaboration avec les analystes fonctionnels.
• Améliorer, maintenir et établir des standards de code en collaboration avec le reste de l’équipe.
• Assurer la performance des pages web et l’optimisation des Core Web Vitals.
• Maintenir une connaissance approfondie des plus récentes normes et outils de développement web.

Exigences techniques

• Minimum de 5 ans d’expérience en développement back-end.
• Expérience en développement avec des assistants IA.
• Excellente maîtrise de SQL (MySQL, ClickHouse) et de PHP.
• Excellente maîtrise de JavaScript (TypeScript).
• Expérience avec des sites web à fort trafic.
• Expérience en optimisation des Core Web Vitals.
• Expérience avec les applications à page unique (SPA) et les API REST / Ajax.
• Solides connaissances en programmation orientée objet.
• Solide compréhension des approches de modularisation et de développement de librairies.
